The Zandbergen is a ovely small hotel, Henk is a wonderful host. Our only regret is that we could not stay longer. The No. 2 tram at the door makes all of Amsterdam available while you have the comfort and quiet of being away from the noisy tourist areas. We'll certainly stay there again when next we go to Holland. Thank you, Henk! Tot ziens!

I just spent a very short 2-day stay at the Zandbergen Hotel and thought it was great! Henk (and his staff), the owner was most accommodating, helpful and friendly. My room/bath were immaculate. It is located in a great spot....close to the museums, the beautiful concert hall, and the transportation is right outside the door. You must be able to manage steep narrow stairs however. Thank you, Henk, for a wonderful, first introduction to Amsterdam. I will surely return for a longer stay. Jan Smith, Maple Valley, (Seattle) Washington USA

Hello We are currently booking our second stay at Hotel Zandbergen. It is an ideal location for us to explore Amsterdam. The location is near city transportation. Whenever we have a flight stop in Amsterdam, we now extend a couple of days to visit this wonderful city in this wonderful hotel. They are most gracious hosts and we highly recommend them.

We want to say "Thank You!" for all of your help while we were in Amsterdam. We just happened to pick your hotel off the Internet and we enjoyed our stay with you very much. We appreciated all of your help with directions around the city and the Itinerary that you suggested for places of interest and getting us tram tickets and also recommending a good restaurant to eat - on our last night in Amsterdam. We also appreciated your help in arranging for taxis to the Port for our Cruise. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend your Hotel to anyone who might be travelling to Amsterdam. But I do hope that you get your wish of an elevator. We had lots of luggage - it certainly would be easier on your back. Thank you again, Henk, for helping to make our stay in Amsterdam a most enjoyable experience. In Appreciation Joan McNiven

Dear Henk, Thank you for our lovely stay in Amsterdam, and for the good directions you gave us to Brugge. We enjoyed the drive through the Netherlands and along the North Sea, but didn't stop at villages, as we wanted to maximize the time we had in Brugge, which was indeed a lovely place. Your kindnesses and suggestions while we were in Amsterdam were very helpful. We had a wonderful time. It was a perfect start each morning to have delicious coffee and breakfast, in a pretty room. We very much liked the neighborhood the hotel is in, and enjoyed walking through it at the start and end of each day. We appreciated the excellent restaurants that were nearby. Our only regret was not having more time. Thanks so much, until we meet again, Carole Rolando and Mike Myers

Having made our reservations via the Internet, we were anxious to see the facility. Everything exceeded our expectations. The rate was a bargain for such excellent accomodations and helpful service. Hank, the new owner, was especially helpful and made dining recomendations that were superb. Great location, too! Jack Moye

A group of four of us stayed at the Hotel Zandbergen for the weekend to celebrate my husbands fortieth. The rooms in this hotel vary due to the age and we had a good sized double room on the lower floor. The cleaner entered our room as we left for breakfast Saturday morning and made an excellent job. The staff are extremely helpful and the location is just right, out of the centre but not too far. Trams are frequent and a cheap source of transport. Will certainly be going again. Thankyou!!!!!!!!

We have had an absolutely wonderful time. Our first visit to The Netherlands, and we have fallen in love with this friendly and welcoming country. Amsterdam is a beautiful city, full of charm and Robert and Margaret's warm welcome has been the icing on the cake of a wonderful trip.

What a perfect spot! Comfortable, Dutch clean, contemporary accomodations right on the main tram line into town. Fine breakfast and friendly, helpful service at reasonable price. Couldn't ask for more if you want the Museum District.

This lovely small hotel proved to be the perfect place for us to stay during our week-long visit to Amsterdam in December 2005. Robert and Margaret and their equally charming, capable staff are helpful, friendly, and efficient. The accommodations themselves are impeccably maintained and immaculate, and the breakfast generous and satisfying. We also found the Hotel Zandbergen to be in an ideal location. It is in a relatively calm, peaceful, residential area just beside the Vondelpark, a short walk from the Concertgebouw, Museumplein, and neighboring shops and restaurants. Any place that seems too far to walk can be easily accessed by taking the number 2 tram which stops just a few steps away at Emmastraat. We were in Amsterdam for my 50th birthday and, upon returning to our room on that night, were surprised and delighted to find a bottle of sparkling wine left to help us celebrate. This kind gesture is emblematic of the care and personal attention you can expect at this very well-run hotel. I'll look forward to staying there again when I return to Amsterdam, as I certainly hope I will. For value, quality of service, and location, it is hard to imagine a better choice. Thank you all very much for helping to make our trip so enjoyable. Eric Brooks Chapel Hill North Carolina USA
